Mr. Albritton received his B.A. and his J.D. from The University of Alabama. He presently serves as Executive Director of the Alabama Ethics Commission, where his responsibilities include overseeing all administrative operations of the Commission, including the investigation of reported ethical violations and complaints; ensuring the proper handling and disposition of cases; overseeing the drafting of advisory opinions of the Commission; providing consultation and training for public officials, public employees and lobbyists on the application of the Alabama Ethics Laws; and overseeing the complete and proper reporting of financial interest information and any other data required by the Alabama Ethics Law of public officials and employees. Prior to serving with the Ethics Commission, Mr. Albritton was in private practice with the firm of Albrittons & Clifton, PC. He has over 23 years of legal experience trying cases for and advising elected officials and other public sector clients such as counties, municipalities and public boards and corporations. Representation included ensuring compliance with the Alabama Ethics Law, statutory and regulatory compliance, and litigation in all federal districts in Alabama, litigation in state courts throughout Alabama, briefing, appeals and representing these clients in administrative hearings. He is “AV” rated by Martindale-Hubbell (the highest rating for legal ability and ethical standards).
