Jason Paulk

Mr. Paulk is the Chief Legal Counsel for the Alabama Department of Examiners of Pubic Accounts. Prior to joining the Department he served as Deputy General Counsel for Governor Kay Ivey, Deputy Legal Advisor for Governor Robert Bentley, Assistant Attorney General for the Alabama Department of Revenue, and Staff Attorney for the City Montgomery. Mr. Paulk received his B.S. in Logistics from Auburn University and his J.D. from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law. His practice has involved representing municipal and state governments, agencies, and officials in litigation before Alabama state and appellate courts, the United States Bankruptcy and District Courts of Alabama, and the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. Mr. Paulk provides advice and legal opinions to state, county, and municipal governing bodies and officials, state boards and commissions, two and four year colleges and universities, sheriffs, and volunteer fire departments concerning compliance with the competitive bid and public works laws, contract law, public records, surplus property, and the open meetings law. Mr. Paulk is a member of the Alabama State Bar.
