Todd Borst

The University of Alabama Office of Student Judicial Affairs


Todd Borst has over twenty-nine years’ experience in Higher Education, having served in various student affairs leadership roles at several institutions in Alabama and Mississippi. At The University of Alabama, Mr. Borst was recently recognized for twenty-five years of continuous service. Prior to assuming leadership for the Office of Student Conduct, Mr. Borst served as Assistant Dean of Students, overseeing Fraternity & Sorority, Parent Orientation, University Programs, the SGA Student Senate, and Kickoff on the Quad.  As Executive Director of Student Conduct, Mr. Borst works closely with campus police and area law enforcement agencies, the legal community, and Intercollegiate Athletics to address student related issues and concerns. Mr. Borst previously served as Chair of the UA Staff Grievance Council and currently serves a member of the Student Life Leadership Team (SLLT), Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT), and the UA Advisory Committee, which reviews admission applications for past behavior concerns.  

Mr. Borst was also instrumental in the development of the University’s Collegiate Intervention and Recovery Services (CRIS) Department, which provides a comprehensive continuum of care for students with substance use concerns, and coordinates UA’s Campus Drug Court, an innovative program developed to help students with addiction and serious conduct and/or criminal cases remain in school, provided they participate in a specialized treatment program.

Active in several higher education professional associations, Mr. Borst has served in leadership positions for the Association of Fraternity Advisors (AFA), Southern Association for Colligate Student Affairs (SACSA), and the Association for Student Conduct Administration (ASCA). Mr. Borst has also presented on topics of alcohol and substance abuse, risk management, and accountability at both regional and national conferences as well as on other college campuses. Prior to joining The University of Alabama, Mr. Borst worked at Mississippi State University and The University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Mr. Borst has a Master of Science in Counseling and Higher Education Administration from Mississippi State University and a Bachelor of Science in Counseling and Guidance from the University of Montevallo.
