Sarah Stokes is a staff attorney at the Southern Environmental Law Center (SELC) in Birmingham, AL. She is a Birmingham native who received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College, a masters in Development from the London School of Economics, and her law degree from the University of Alabama School of Law. She also served in the Peace Corps in Paraguay as an environmental educator. As an attorney for SELC, she has litigated cases under the National Policy Environmental Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the Clean Water Act and has been recognized by the Cahaba River Society as the Cahaba Conservationist of the Year. She is the Chair of the Environmental Section of the Alabama State Bar.
