Jeffrey Bradley


Jeff Bradley is the General Counsel for the Alabama Office of Prosecution Services (OPS).  Mr. Bradley joined OPS in March 2021 and as General Counsel, he provides research, education and support services for all forty-two Alabama District Attorney offices and law enforcement throughout the state. 

Prior to joining OPS, Mr. Bradley was an Assistant District Attorney and later the Managing Assistant District Attorney from November 2004 through February 2021.  In his role as the Managing Assistant District Attorney, he was primarily responsible for the day to day operations of the office as well as supervising all District Court Prosecutors and support personnel.  In his time in Shelby County, he has prosecuted everything ranging from traffic offenses to capital crimes.  He spent two tours as the Shelby County Drug Court prosecutor and also served as the prosecutor for both Mental Health Court as well as Veteran’s Treatment Court.  Mr. Bradley was also the supervising attorney for the Shelby County Traffic Homicide Taskforce.  He has served as an instructor for the Shelby County Citizen Sheriff’s Academy for several years.  Additionally, while with the Shelby County District Attorney’s office, each year, he coordinated and instructed law enforcement throughout Shelby County regarding legal updates and criminal procedure.  He also served as an instructor for the Alabama District Attorney’s Association 2017 Winter Conference on the issues of incompetence and not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect and the 2020 Boot Camp for Prosecutors on Opening Statements.  Additionally, he served as a speaker for the 2018 Alabama State Drug Court Conference on the lethality of opioids.

Prior to joining the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office, he was a Deputy District Attorney for the 10th Judicial Circuit, Jefferson County, where he prosecuted felony crimes, crimes involving juvenile defendants, and civil condemnation and forfeiture cases.  Mr. Bradley received his Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice and Master Degree in Public Administration from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and his Law Degree from the Birmingham School of Law.
