Mr. Botes received his B.S. degree from the University of North Alabama and his J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. Prior to commencing legal practice, Mr. Botes served one-year clerkships each with the United States Trustee for the Northern District of Alabama, Billy J. Rivers, and United States District Judge for the Northern District of Alabama, E.B. Haltom, Jr. Mr. Botes is licensed to practice law in Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee and Illinois. He is also admitted to practice before various United States District Courts, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States Supreme Court. A member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys since its inception, Mr. Botes has served as a member of its Board of Directors and as its first full time Executive Director.
