Description

Venue is one of the single most important factors in determining the value of a case. All lawyers know this, and all parties at the outset of a case analyze and evaluate all options on where a case can be filed or heard. Because of its importance to value, venue battles are fought in almost every case. I have been practicing for almost 30 years now and, as an appellate lawyer, I have written more appellate briefs in my career on venue issues than any other. Venue is important, and thus, it is important to understand how the law has changed and where it is trending now.  This seminar is not about whether your case has been filed in a proper venue. Instead, this seminar focuses on situations where there are multiple proper venues, and the parties are battling over the strong and/or weak connection to the chosen venue and if there is, by law, a better one that mandates transfer. This is the venue battle royale- Forum Non Conveniens.
