Public Defenders Office


Glenn A. Langner II.  Live in Montgomery and work at the Montgomery County Public Defender’s Office (305 S. Lawrence Street).  Graduated from Jones School of Law or Faulkner Law, as it is called now, in 2017.  While in law school, I interned at a small private firm in Auburn, Alabama, and was a certified legal intern with the 19th Judicial Circuit District Attorneys Office (Autauga, Chilton, and Elmore counties) where I assisted in handling a variety of cases for the DA’s office.  After graduating law school, I was hired by the Montgomery County Public Defender’s Office as a trial attorney handling low-level felony cases.  I was quickly promoted to a senior trial attorney handling all types of felony cases.  And currently serve as a lead trial attorney, supervising the district court attorney team and handling all appeals to the Court of Criminal Appeals and Supreme Court from felony court.


Joseph P. Van Heest Related Seminars and Products


Mr. Van Heest received his B.S. in Management from Syracuse University and his J.D. from The Catholic University of America School of Law in Washington, DC. He formerly served as law clerk to Senior United States District Judge Harold Albritton, spent four years as an Assistant Federal Defender, and twelve years in private practice in Montgomery. In 2010 he was appointed Public Defender of Tuscaloosa County. Mr. Van Heest is a past-president of the Alabama Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Federal Bar Association (Montgomery Chapter), and graduate of the National Criminal Defense College Trial Practice Institute in Macon, Georgia. He is a frequent speaker at CLE events on the topics of criminal law and criminal defense.
