Kelli’s experience includes health care privacy and security matters, licensure and certificate of need issues, contract drafting and negotiation, fraud and abuse compliance, Medicare/Medicaid regulatory guidance, third-party payor audits and disputes, employment matters, and various other corporate and regulatory concerns health care providers may face. Kelli has a focus within the area of HIPAA compliance, ensuring her clients adhere to the privacy and security policies and procedures that are required of them. Kelli assists all types of clients within the health care industry, including hospitals, surgery centers, physician practices, diagnostic centers, and home health and hospice agencies.  Having a father who is also an attorney, Kelli has been around the profession all her life. She has developed the ability to guide clients in overcoming challenges and seizing opportunities within the legal framework impacting the highly-regulated health care industry. Resourceful and collaborative, Kelli values the interaction she has with her clients and places her focus on assisting them with growing their businesses and achieving their goals.

Kelli is a member of the firm’s Recruiting Committee, Charitable Contributions Committee, and Health Care Group. Kelli is also a contributing writer for the Birmingham Medical News and the Medical Association of the State of Alabama. When she’s not in the office, Kelli is involved in the activities of her two children and loves to travel.  Kelli earned her J.D. from the University of Alabama School of Law and her B.S. from Washington and Lee University.

With an LL.M. in Health Law and Policy and serving as President and founding member of the Student Health Lawyers Association while in law school, Mitch is a zealous advocate and passionate about healthcare law. He earned his J.D., cum laude, and LL.M. in Health Law and Policy from Cumberland School of Law, where he also served as Online Editor for the American Journal of Trial Advocacy and was awarded Scholar of Merit in several courses. He holds a B.A. in Political Science with a Minor in Professional Ethics, magna cum laude, from Valdosta State University.  Prior to joining Maynard Nexsen, Mitch practiced at a boutique litigation firm in Birmingham, where he concentrated his practice in the areas of professional liability litigation, representing physicians, providers, engineers, architects, designers, brokers, safety consultants, and other professionals. Mitch represented professionals in federal and state courts in Alabama and Georgia and assisted the firm with cases in Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

Dana joined Beasley Allen Law Firm in 1998 and has handled complex  business and commercial litigation and products liability and personal  injury litigation. Currently, she focuses her practice in the areas of  product liability and personal injury.   Many of her product liability cases have resulted in multi-million  dollar settlements for her clients. She further acts as the lead  appellant attorney for the firm’s Product Liability/Personal Injury  Section.   Dana, born and raised in Butler, Alabama, received her law degree in  1993 from the University of Alabama School of Law. Ty Dedmon’s practice is focused on helping clients solve their most complex problems. He has coordinated national and regional litigation in the areas of toxic tort, product liability, professional negligence, and commercial disputes. Clients have come to depend on his seasoned judgment and leadership of effective teams to accomplish excellent results no matter the venue, opponent, or subject matter. Given his breadth of experience, Ty particularly enjoys providing outside general counsel guidance to growing companies to help them identify and address the unpredictable legal issues that they may encounter – particularly with respect to the implementation of emerging technologies.

Although Ty’s mass litigation experience has involved a variety of industries, his trial practice has focused on healthcare clients. He currently leads Bradley’s Healthcare Litigation team and has spent his entire career representing the Southeast’s leading providers in their highest stakes matters. He regularly defends healthcare professionals and facilities against malpractice claims, as well as reimbursement and commercial disputes. This includes defending wrongful death and catastrophic injury claims arising from anesthesia, neurosurgery, organ transplant, infectious disease, oncology, emergency medicine, and dialysis treatment. His commercial healthcare practice is particularly focused on disputes over ownership of closely held providers, claims arising from merger and acquisition activity, and managed care reimbursement disputes.

Alice Harris is an experienced health care, reimbursement, and compliance attorney based in the Firm's Columbia, South Carolina office, where she assists hospitals, health care systems, FQHCs, clinical laboratories, physicians and physician practices, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living/Community Residential Care Facilities, hospice agencies, home health care agencies, Continuing Care Retirement Communities, behavioral health providers, pharmacy providers, and other health care providers with a wide variety of matters. Walt Green's Profile

Walt Green focuses his practice on cybersecurity, white collar criminal defense and governmental investigations, and litigation. Walt served as the United States Attorney for the Middle District of Louisiana and the Executive Director for the National Center for Disaster Fraud from 2013-2017. He retired from the United States Department of Justice with over 20 years of federal experience. Walt also served in the United States Marine Corps for over 30 years, retiring with the rank of Colonel.  In addition to defending businesses against cyber class actions in multiple jurisdictions, Walt routinely provides real-time counseling for companies to respond to data breaches and cyber intrusions of their computer systems, including incidents across multiple states. He guides companies through cyberattacks, including C-suite counseling, coordinating forensic efforts, liaising with local and federal law enforcement agencies, and providing domestic and international notification advice.

Walt also advises domestic companies on compliance with U.S. data privacy laws, including the California Privacy Rights Act and other states’ data regulations. He helps multinational companies stay on top of the European Union’s General Data Protection Regulation and China’s Personal Information Protection Law.  In addition to his cybersecurity practice, Walt defends doctors, nurses, health care systems and health care executives in civil and criminal health care investigations.


Candace Gregory's Profile

Candace Gregory brings a rare combination of civil and criminal litigation experience to her practice. She has tried more than 40 cases to verdict, handled over 100 investigations for a Fortune 500 company, and managed the staffing and oversight of hundreds of government investigations. Candace's practice focuses on litigation, cybersecurity, white-collar defense and investigations, and media and First Amendment law. She is also a trained mediator and is available to act as a neutral third party to assist litigants in resolving their disputes prior to trial. Candace’s pragmatism and fairness on both sides of the court room has made her a sought-after neutral. 

Candace was most recently the Director of the Public Integrity Division and Statewide Coordinator for officer involved shootings for the Attorney General of Mississippi. Prior to that, she was the first hybrid Assistant United States Attorney (AUSA) for the Southern District of Mississippi, responsible for litigating both civil and criminal civil rights cases. Additionally, Candace was the coordinator for both civil rights and violent crimes throughout the District.  Earlier in her career, Candace worked as a Public Defender for Hinds County, Mississippi and in private practice in the areas of criminal law, family law, personal injury, and workers’ compensation. She also worked as an Attorney Advisor for the Social Security Administration. While in law school, Candace taught 10th and 11th grade boys at one of Baltimore’s first charter schools, Baltimore Freedom Academy. She also worked as a Clinical law Fellow in HIV/AIDS law.  Candace is committed to mentoring the next generation of leaders. She has coached high school mock trial teams in Maryland and Mississippi. A number of her students pursued legal careers and gained their first professional experience working with her. She is currently an adjunct professor of criminal law and procedure, and business law at South College in Nashville, Tennessee.


Thomas Sullivan's Profile

For over 30 years, Tom Sullivan has represented clients in almost every aspect of the health care industry, from hospitals and nursing facilities to physicians and surgeons, suppliers, consultants and vendors. His early career experience as a contract litigator taught him not only how to try a case but also how to identify potential issues when drafting documents and address them before they result in contract provisions that produce future litigation. He applies this linear and pragmatic approach when drafting business contracts and transaction documents and advising his clients in the health care field.

Chris Christie represents plans, fiduciaries, and insurers in employee benefits litigation, including several ERISA fiduciary breach trials. He has handled many lawsuits involving stock valuations and financial and statistical expert witnesses. Since 2012, he has been a Fellow with the American College of Employee Benefits Counsel. Mr. Christie represents providers in healthcare litigation. He has handled numerous False Claims Act cases, class actions, and bet-the-company cases. He has tried and won at trial against the Department of Justice in two healthcare False Claims Act cases.
