Alan McKnight is an Executive Vice President and serves as the Chief Investment Officer for Regions Asset Management. In this role, he is responsible for overall investment strategy, portfolio and risk management, portfolio construction, and oversight for approximately $70BN in assets under management and $150BN in assets under advisement. In addition, he is responsible for the development and execution of investment policies, strategy, and tactics, chairman of the Investment Working Group and a member of the Asset Liability Committee. He also serves as the chief spokesperson on portfolio strategy, asset allocation and overall markets for the Bank with groups such as CNBC, Bloomberg, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, CNN Money, The Financial Times, Fox Business, NPR, and Thomson Reuters.
Prior to joining Regions in 2015, McKnight was a managing director and Head of Institutional Investments for Truist, where he led the investment team associated with all institutional clients of the bank including foundations, endowments, defined benefit and 401K plans. He also previously served as the Chief Investment Officer for SunTrust Institutional Investment Advisors, as well as a portfolio manager with Equitable Asset Management and Morgan Stanley Asset Management.
McKnight has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Washington and Lee University and a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Texas at Austin. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a member of the CFA Institute. He currently serves on the board of directors of the Central Outreach and Advocacy Center. He formerly served on the Board of the Alliance Theatre, Cherokee Garden Library, The New Normal Society (Autism Awareness) and the Investment Committee for the Woodruff Arts Center.
Anne Balcer is senior executive vice president, chief of government relations and public policy for the Independent Community Bankers of America® (ICBA). In this role she works with other members of ICBA’s executive management team to shape the association’s policy strategy and advance the interests of the nation’s community banks. Balcer leads ICBA’s congressional and government relations teams and oversees ICBA’s advocacy initiatives in the legislative, regulatory, lending, accounting and payment system areas.
Prior to joining ICBA, Balcer served in an executive role at Forbright Bank, formerly Congressional Bank, advising its executive management team and board of directors while managing all aspects of legal, regulatory and compliance oversight. Balcer served as Maryland’s deputy commissioner of financial regulation from 2010 to 2013 and was lauded for her consensus building approach to regulation and policy. Experienced in government relations and public policy at the state and federal level, Balcer has testified before Congress, the TARP Oversight Committee and in state and local legislatures. Balcer received her J.D., magna cum laude, with honors, from the University of Baltimore School of Law and her B.A. from Randolph Macon College.
Edward J. Canter is an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama where he serves as the office’s Computer Hacking and Intellectual Property Coordinator. Prior to joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, he was an associate in the White Collar Defense and Investigations group at Proskauer Rose LLP in New York. He is a 2014 graduate of the Emory University School of Law and Goizueta Business School and received his B.A. from Vanderbilt University in 2008.
John M. Hundscheid is an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Northern District of Alabama. He works in the Huntsville Branch Office and serves as the district’s Digital Asset Coordinator. John is a 2016 graduate of the University of Alabama School of Law. After law school, John clerked for United States District Judge Karon O. Bowdre. He then worked in private practice for four years before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office in 2021.
Lisa Berry is a founding member of Conformance LLC with more than 40 years of experience
in the financial services industry. Lisa performs Compliance Management System, Loan and
Deposit Compliance, Bank Secrecy Act, Fair Lending, Community Reinvestment Act and ACH
reviews. She offers training to our institutions for their Boards and personnel and has been a
speaker at state banking schools in the southeast.
In addition to regulatory compliance, Lisa’s banking experience has included everything from
teller, branch management, correspondent banking and commercial, consumer and mortgage
lending. She has worked with a large regional bank and had the incredible experience of being
on the ground floor of a de novo bank where she served as the bank’s Chief Risk Officer.
Before forming Conformance LLC with Shannon Brasher, Lisa was a Principal with Warren
Averett LLC in their Financial Services Division. She received her BS from The University of Alabama.
Stephen Parsley is a member of the Banking and Financial Services Practice Group, where he assists clients with regulatory compliance and litigation matters in Alabama and nationwide. Before joining Bradley, he clerked for Judge Virginia Emerson Hopkins on the Northern District of Alabama.
Mr. Waters received his B.A., cum laude, from Duke University, his M.A. from Oxford University, England, and his J.D. from The University of Alabama School of Law. He is a partner in the firm's Banking & Financial Services Practice Group, and has practiced corporate and securities law, primarily in the financial institutions area, for more than 30 years. Mr. Waters routinely represents banks, bank holding companies, and other financial entities in acquisitions, capital raising transactions, shareholder issues, new bank formations, and board fiduciary duty issues. He also advises banks regarding regulatory issues, examination, compliance, and enforcement proceedings. Since 1994, Mr. Waters has served as an adjunct professor of law at The University of Alabama School of Law, where he teaches courses in banking law and corporate mergers and acquisitions.
Mr. Childs received his B.A. from The University of Alabama, magna cum laude, and his J.D. from the University of Virginia where he was elected to the Order of the Coif. He is co-head of Waller Lansden's Trial and Appellate Practice Section and frequently represents financial institutions. He was a law clerk to Senior Judge Seybourn H. Lynne of the Northern District of Alabama. Mr. Childs is a member of the Birmingham Bar Association, Alabama State Bar, Tennessee Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He also served on the Business Entities Committee of the Alabama Law Institute, and was a member of the Alabama Consumer Information Privacy Study Committee. He is listed in Best Lawyers in America and Alabama Super Lawyers.
Cason Kirby is a commercial litigation partner in Holland & Knight's Birmingham office. His practice includes a broad range of commercial disputes, with particular experience in business competition issues. Mr. Kirby regularly represents clients in the financial services and insurance sectors in restrictive covenant enforcement, trade secrets disputes, and unfair competition and business tort claims. Mr. Kirby also has extensive experience counseling corporate officers, directors and shareholders on fiduciary duty and shareholder rights issues, including litigating minority shareholder oppression and breach of fiduciary duty claims. He has also defended a large law firm in multiple fraud and legal malpractice claims. In addition to his legal practice, Mr. Kirby served in a leadership role on an Alabama Law Institute drafting committee for Alabama's first-in-the-nation non-disparagement obligation statute, which was signed into law in 2021.
Mr. Schilleci focuses on business planning, succession planning, real estate, taxation, estate planning, and probate administration. He frequently partners with business owners and professionals, providing unique solutions to ensure an efficient transfer of ownership of closely-held companies to the next generation. Mr. Schilleci also works with families of children with special needs to preserve government benefits eligibility for such children, while ensuring they maintain the quality of life to which they are accustomed. He serves as the reporter for the Alabama Law Institute’s Standing Committee on Trusts and is a member of the Jefferson County GOP Executive Committee. In the past, Mr. Schilleci has served as General Counsel to the Birmingham Volunteer Lawyers Program, and sat on the executive committee of the Birmingham Bar Association’s Probate Committee, where he served as CLE chair and Social Chair.He received his undergraduate degree and his J.D. from The University of Alabama, and his LLM in taxation from New York University School of Law.
Mr. Corscadden is presently employed by the Alabama State Banking Department as the Supervisor, Bureau of Loans. As Supervisor, he is responsible for the administration and regulatory supervision of licensees under the Alabama Consumer Credit Act, Alabama Small Loan Act, Alabama Pawnshop Act, Alabama Mortgage Brokers Licensing Act, Alabama Deferred Presentment Services Act and Alabama SAFE Act. Prior to accepting the position of Supervisor he was with the financial institutions group at the law firm of Miller, Hamilton, Snider & Odom in the Birmingham office. He also served as the General Counsel for the Alabama State Banking Department from 1994 through 2001. He holds a law degree from The University of Alabama School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Mr. Corscadden also serves as the Ombudsman for the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System. He has trained at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and served as a panelist on several continuing education programs as well as seminars presented by the Conference of State Bank Supervisors.
