Description
Join us for an in-depth exploration of the life and legacy of Justice Hugo Black, one of the most influential Supreme Court justices in American history. Born in rural Alabama in 1886, Black's upbringing and early career were shaped by his family's strong Democratic values and his own drive for intellectual curiosity. He went on to become a prominent lawyer, a US Senator, and ultimately, a Supreme Court justice, serving from 1937 to 1971. During his tenure, Black played a pivotal role in shaping landmark decisions on civil rights, civil liberties, and the Constitution's interpretation. Our CLE on Demand seminar will delve into Black's fascinating life, examining his judicial philosophy, notable opinions, and lasting impact on American law.
